Credit Card Miles: It's Just Convenient To Earn Miles

People that want to travel will enjoy having these cards because over a period of time while you are spending on your credit card you may end up getting enough credit card miles to get free flights. Based on how many points you accumulate or how many dollars you spend you can receive miles on your account. Every credit card miles program is different and some will give you one frequent flier mile per dollar or two you spend.

If a passenger has credit card mile features, bonus miles are credited for each and every purchase. You will be able to obtain free airline tickets in no time if you continue to spend on your credit card. The airline market is too competitive and volatile. By working alongside credit card issuers to come up with specific credit card miles programs they increase their customer base immediately.

However, note that the miles card only covers the cost of traveling, additional charges like security fees and entry taxes maybe levied, but that varies with individual airlines and the schemes they offer. Also remember that the credit card miles are custom made for any one particular airline. The frequent flier miles are not transferable for use on other airline companies. Some airlines only have flights to specific destinations and if they do not offer a flight to a certain destination they you will need to purchase another flight individually.

Credit Card Miles: There Are Drawbacks

Credit card miles may be a no-brainer but be aware of certain details of the program or credit card.

First major disadvantage is not being able to use the mileage points on vacation days. A number of credit card miles programs disallow travel on holidays. Each credit card miles program is different so double check the terms and conditions.

Also, credit card miles programs have slightly higher annual percentage rates tied to them but it all depends on the airline card. Alternatively, credit card companies may also charge high annual fees for the miles card.

Even with slightly higher interest charges and/or an annual fee on the credit card consumers that love to travel may still come out in front.

Redeeming Credit Card Miles

Over time you will rack up miles. Check your statement for how many miles you have to trade them in for free flights. The number of miles to a certain destination is the "cost" for the flight. Suppose you have a balance that will cover only 400 miles whereas the total journey is of 600 miles, then the customer will have to pay for the remaining miles after deduction from the card.
Having an airline credit card miles program will definitely reduce the burden of shelling out money to pay for a flight. American Express, Citi Premier Card and Discover Card are some of the popular credit card miles options available.
